November - Make a mushroom candle holder from clay

Get cozy with clay this November! In this 2.5-hour pottery workshop, you'll create an enchanting mushroom candle holder using classic handbuilding techniques.

Whether you're a complete beginner or already have some pottery experience, you'll feel right at home. We'll start with the basics, guiding you through how to prepare your clay and sculpt your piece. Depending on the shape you choose, you'll learn to use one or two of the three essential handbuilding methods—pinch pots and slabs—to bring your candle holder to life.

As you work, you'll pick up key skills like how to join pieces securely, create hollow forms, and even account for clay shrinkage to ensure the final piece has the right dimensions. You'll also get to add your own personal flair by carving or adding extra details to your piece, or painting it with underglazes (special paints for ceramics).

The workshop fee includes all the materials you'll need, along with the firing of up to two pieces up to 15x10x10cm in combined volume. Should you wish to create larger or additional pieces, they can be fired for an extra 5€ per piece. Come solo or bring a friend, and leave with a beautiful, handmade piece and a new creative skill.
