October - Craft your own ceramic pumpkin

Get ready for some autumnal fun this October with our 3-hour handbuilding pottery workshop, where you'll create your very own decorative pumpkin out of clay! Whether you're a complete beginner or have some pottery experience, we guarantee you will come out of this session having learned something new.

We will kick off the class with an introduction to working with clay and the project at hand. Then, it's time to get hands-on: You will learn how to properly wedge your clay, and then we will cover the pinch pot technique which you will use to construct the body of your pumpkin.

Then you will learn how to join clay pieces using slip to make strong bonds, how to create a hollow form and how to shape your piece to resemble a pumpkin. We will explore a variety of different stalk shapes and learn how to securely attach them, adding unique character to your pumpkin.

Finally, you will bring your pumpkin to life with a vibrant finish. You'll have access to a rich autumnal palette of underglazes to paint your masterpiece, making it truly your own.

The workshop fee includes all the materials you'll need, along with the firing of one piece up to 15x15cm in size. Should you wish to create larger or additional pieces, they can be fired for an extra 5€ per piece. Come solo or bring a friend, and discover the joy of working with clay with us!
