Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced artist, this private 2.5-hour handbuilding workshop is the perfect creative escape. We’ll guide you step-by-step through fundamental techniques, helping you create a one-of-a-kind piece you'll be proud of. You can choose a project from our library or bring your own idea to life.

All materials, tools, and firing are included. Since your creations will need a few weeks to be fired and finished, we'll happily arrange international shipping for an additional fee.

• Location: Our studio at Argirokastrou St. 15, Agios Nikolaos, Crete

• Duration: 2.5 hours, however larger groups tend to take closer to 3 hours

• Session availability: We usually have availability for these sessions on Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays at 10am, however other times might work depending on our schedule for that particular week. We recommend that you get in touch to enquire. The sooner you reach out, the better!

• What to expect: We'll get to know each other and after a short introduction to the instructor and the studio, we'll discuss what you would like to make and what method is best to follow. You will learn one of the fundamental handbuilding techniques (slab building, pinching or coil building) and we'll guide you throughout whilst you work on your piece. If there is time, you can decorate your work of art with underglazes (special paint for ceramics) or you can choose one of the glazes in our collection and we will glaze it for you

• What can I make: Mugs and bowls are typical projects for beginners. More experienced students can venture into more advanced forms. For example, private class students have previously made lidded jars & decorative pumpkins.
  You can bring your ideas along or browse our books, magazines & Pinterest boards for inspiration and we will discuss what you can achieve in the time that we have together

• What's included: Drinks, all materials, tools, glazing and firing are included in the price.  We use stoneware clay and fire to cone 9, meaning your piece will be hardwearing and food safe

• Postage: Since finished pieces take a few weeks, we can ship your creations to you for an extra fee. As an indication of costs, postage for 2 pieces to EU destinations has previously cost around 30€

• Difficulty: Suitable for all levels

• Age: Suitable for adults and mature teens. Please note that our studio is unfortunately not set up for kids

• Language: The class will be taught in English

Pricing per person:

• 2 participants: 50€ each

• 3-4 participants: 45€ each

• 5-6 participants: 40€ each
