March - Make a ceramic bud vase

Join us in our March workshop and learn how to make a vase using the meditative method of coil building.

In this focused 3-hour session, we're stripping back the distractions to dive deep into the form of a ceramic piece for your home.

We'll start with an introduction to the medium and our project at hand. You'll then get hands-on as you learn how to wedge the clay, how to join different parts of clay securely and how to use profile templates to give your vase the silhouette you envision whilst you're building your piece with coils.

Once your form is complete, the creativity continues. Use carving tools, stamps, your fingers or clay additions to add personality and tactile detail to your piece.

We'll fire your work of art in a few weeks and it will be ready to host your Spring bouquets!

A note on finishing:
To allow us to focus entirely on the construction and refining of the shape of your vase, this workshop is dedicated to form rather than colour. To highlight the beautiful textures you've created, your piece will be glazed in your choice of clear gloss or white glaze.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and intermediate potters alike! We'll provide step-by-step guidance throughout the process. For those up for a challenge, we'll offer more advanced options and techniques.

The workshop fee includes all the materials you'll need, along with the firing of one piece up to 10x10x15cm in size. Should you wish to create larger or additional pieces, they can be fired for an extra 5€ per piece. If you wish to colour your piece with underglazes, this can be done at an extra session with an additional cost of 5€.
